How is it Twisted Kaiju Theater has stayed off of this wiki? I mean in between the fanboy writing and the furries scalies! Seriously?!?

Ok, so new update. Yay. Thanks to the Admin Staff for helping me get back on my feet. Support is always welcome.

I finished a single playthrough on the new Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. The game turns the entire Silent Hill mythos on it's ear. Imagine a survival horror game with no combat. Seriously. No combat. You have to run from the monsters. The game made me feel really good about the puzzles, as they were clever but not so hard that I didn't have to consult Gamefaqs until about halfway through the game. No sexy nurses, but they needed to be put to bed by now, anyway. The monsters themselves are repetitive with little design variation. During Silent Hill Proper you are in no danger of anything. It's only during Silent Hill Hell that they come out to chase yoru ass around. The ice worlds are somewhat misleading and cause you to double back, but it gives you a real sense of everyman terror. C-Ball explained it to me that when you train to get good with a gun, you need to be an expert because when the shit hits the fan, you'll only be average. The content of the game is VERY adult, referencing rape, molestation, divorce, drug use, sex, perversion, recreational asphixiation, and of course death.

I won't spoil the ending. But it shocked me so much and left me with such a profound sense of loss, that I have to rank the entire game with all its flaws up there as one of my favorite games of all time. It's such a psychological terror, that it really does play you. I do not recommend playing it in front of an audience, however, unless you're comfortable with the psychological test revealing if you have ever cheated on your partner or have you ever role-played during sex.
